AS WE GATHER
When dark days come upon us and our hearts are heavy with sorrow, our inclination is to ask God, "Why?” Our second prayer is usually along the lines of, “take it away,” or “lift the burden.” Paul in 2 Corinthians details just such a time of prolonged suffering and pain. He skips the "why" prayer and goes right to the "take it away" prayer. In God's answer to his prayer, he discovers, and we are the beneficiaries of, one of the greatest insights in the Holy Scriptures: the incredible power of Sufficient Grace in the life of a sufferer, and the profound effect of Sufficient Grace on those who witness its effect on the one bearing the burden of pain or sorrow. This morning we'll take a closer look at the circumstances of Paul's suffering, and what he learned about himself and his connection to God in the process. May your life and faith be renewed this morning as you encounter the Sufficient Grace of your Heavenly Father!
