AS WE GATHER
God’s life-giving Word cleaves the darkness of humanity’s sin and death, accomplishing the rescue mission for which our Lord speaks it forth. Turned in upon ourselves, the ground of our hearts is at different times in our lives hard-packed, rock-infested, and thorn-choked. Then the fructifying Word is sown, creating fertile, receptive soil in which the vivifying Word of His Gospel finds purchase, takes root, and bears much fruit. Indeed, great are the promises of the power of God's Word. "It shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose" (Isaiah 55:11). Rejoice to welcome the change God’s Word will accomplish in you today! Welcome to worship.
