A Higher Calling

AS WE GATHER
Jesus – the same yesterday, today, and forever – in His Word exhorts us to humility, contentment and purity, showing us a response to His grace by way of serving Him. How, practically, might we do that? The writer to the Hebrews encourages: “Let mutual love continue … show hospitality … remember those in prison … honor marriage … be content with what you have … remember your leaders … imitate their faith.” To be sure, all of the above are fueled by an intense passion to be about the Word, to study it, to allow it to transform us. It is this Word made flesh and dwelling among us that ultimately gives rise to a faith and life of service. Jesus, the same? Yes! But as He continually dwells in us, we remain not!
